Does an embedded battery use the electrical-equipment UIN?

No. An embedded battery remains within the battery stream even when the host product is electrical equipment. Each applicable stream has its own registration and identifier.

Will one declaration cover both streams?

No. EEE and batteries use separate producer registrations, product data, declarations and eco-contributions. We coordinate them in one operating workflow.

What product information do you need?

We normally need the catalogue, electrical function, voltage, equipment dimensions and category, battery presence, chemistry, mass and use, plus the brand, supplier and import route.

French EPR registration for electrical equipment and batteries

Electrical and electronic equipment and batteries are separate French EPR streams. A rechargeable appliance can therefore require one registration for the equipment and another for its embedded battery, with separate UINs/IDUs, declarations and eco-contributions. Packaging may add a third stream.

Example: a rechargeable kitchen appliance in a retail box

The appliance is tested against the EEE definition, its rechargeable cell remains a separate battery result, and the retail and shipping packaging are reviewed as a possible third stream. One product can therefore produce three distinct registrations and reporting datasets.
