Where French VAT rules require a fiscal representative, that representative must be accredited and established in France.

How we help

We obtain your EORI as part of your French VAT registration, so you can import from day one. Need EORI on its own? We can do that too, and keep the number in VAT EPR EXPERT FRANCE.

What's included

  • EORI eligibility and document review
  • Registration request prepared and submitted
  • Follow-up until the number is issued
  • EORI record stored in VAT EPR EXPERT FRANCE

A controlled path from review to evidence

  1. Check for an existing EU EORI

An operator should not obtain duplicate EORI registrations in multiple Member States.

  2. Confirm France is competent

Review establishment and the first customs operation for a non-EU operator.

  3. Prepare the SOPRANO request

Submit the operator and activity details through the French customs route.

  4. Validate activation

Check the issued number before it is used in a live customs declaration.

Documents and source data

  • Company registration evidence
  • Existing EU EORI number or validation result
  • Expected French import or export flow
  • Customs representative details, where relevant
  • French VAT and establishment information

Example: a non-EU importer clearing its first shipment in France

We first verify that the business does not already have an EORI from another Member State. If France is the correct place of registration, the request is prepared for the competent customs service and the number is validated before clearance.
